JinKul is a product of Rushmore Advisors LLC (USA), with paid subscriptions in India billed by EurekAI Solutions (Mumbai, India). Together, "we", "us", "our". We operate the JinKul mobile application and website at jinkul.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide

  • Account information: Name, email address, and profile photo (via Google Sign-In)
  • Household details: Household name, family member names, ages, dietary preferences, and health conditions
  • Meal plans: Generated meal plans, dish preferences, favorites, and notes
  • Cook information: Cook name and contact details for the Cook Portal
  • Grocery data: Shopping lists, product preferences, and procurement history

b) Information Collected Automatically

  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • IP address and approximate location
  • Usage patterns (pages visited, features used, time spent)
  • Cookies and session identifiers for authentication

c) Third-Party Integrations

  • Swiggy Instamart: When you link your Swiggy account, we access your delivery addresses, product search results, and cart operations. We store your product preferences and order history to improve grocery recommendations.
  • WhatsApp: Phone numbers provided for cook notifications and meal plan sharing.

d) Billing & Payment Information

When you start a paid subscription, we and our payment processor collect:

  • Card / UPI / bank details: Held by Razorpay (our payment processor) under PCI-DSS compliance. We never see or store full card numbers.
  • Subscription metadata: Plan, status, period dates, and member count — stored by us to enforce paywall and renewal logic.
  • Billing address & GST details: If provided for tax invoices.
  • Transaction records: Charge history kept by Razorpay; surfaced to you in the Billing Settings page.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Generate personalized meal plans based on family nutrition needs
  • Calculate per-member nutrition from shared household meals
  • Create and manage grocery shopping lists
  • Send daily meal plans and recipes to your cook via WhatsApp
  • Pre-fill Swiggy Instamart carts with grocery items
  • Improve our meal planning algorithms and dish recommendations
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
  • Ensure security and prevent misuse of the service

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure:

  • Database: Neon PostgreSQL (AWS Asia Pacific — Singapore)
  • Application: Vercel (global edge network)
  • Authentication: Google OAuth 2.0 (tokens managed by NextAuth.js)
  • Images: Vercel Blob Storage (CDN-distributed)

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

  • Google: Authentication only (OAuth tokens)
  • Meta / WhatsApp: Phone numbers for cook and family notifications (only numbers you provide)
  • Swiggy: Product searches and cart operations (only when you initiate grocery ordering)
  • Razorpay: Payment information for subscription processing. Razorpay is a payment aggregator authorized by the Reserve Bank of India and operates under PCI-DSS compliance.
  • Error tracking: Anonymized error reports via Sentry for application stability
  • Legal compliance: When required by law, regulation, or legal process

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: View all personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Portability: Request an export of your data in a readable format
  • Objection: Opt out of non-essential data processing
  • Withdraw consent: Unlink third-party integrations (Swiggy, WhatsApp) at any time

7. Children's Privacy

JinKul is designed for household meal planning managed by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. Family member profiles (including children's names and ages) are created by the adult account holder for the purpose of nutrition planning only.

8. Cookies & Local Storage

We use minimal cookies and local storage:

  • Session cookie: Authentication (required for the app to function)
  • Local storage: UI preferences (e.g., install prompt dismissal)
  • Service worker: Offline caching for PWA functionality

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data (household details, meal plans, preferences, and nutrition data) will be permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of JinKul after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
